At the trial of two Puerto Ricans for the murder of a black, the bare objection after all the jurors had been selected and sworn that the jury had been unconstitutionally selected because no veniremen were of Puerto Rican origin or blacks came too late, and raised no constitutional question. [91-92] Upon appeal from the conviction of two Puerto Ricans for the murder of a black, it was held that the defendants were not denied due process of law in that questions to prospective jurors were not sufficiently pointed at racial prejudice where it appeared that the Judge in his remarks to the veniremen spoke of racial prejudice in particular, although later in interrogating prospective jurors he hewed to the general statutory questions, that the circumstances of the case did not highlight racial prejudice, and that counsel did not ask for questions on that subject.
